Shane Hatchett

Shane Hatchett is a seasoned health and human services executive with extensive experience in public health, Medicaid, and public welfare. He served as the Deputy Health Commissioner and Chief of Staff at the Indiana Department of Health, where he played a crucial role in the COVID-19 pandemic response and the modernization of Indiana’s public health system. Prior to this, he was the Deputy State Medicaid Director for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. Shane holds an M.S. in Technology from Purdue University and a B.S. in Public Affairs from Indiana University. He is currently pursuing a DrPH at the IU Fairbanks School of Public Health.

“I think that the politics and the vitriol that surround the pandemic and the vaccines overshadow so much – early on we worked hard together, but we’ve forgotten the basic principles of society and caring for one another somewhere along the way.”
